Just listening

I was sitting in A2B hotel the other day, just after taking the food that I had received from the self-service counter. While I was munching on my masala dosa, I was saying, ohh there is so much noise here. It was a place full of people. I am in general quite fed up by noises, traffic, honking, loudspeakers, and now, even here for dinner, I have to listen to so much noise.

Then I recalled Devang's favourite timespass:- just listening.

Something changed. I paused my eating for a while. Looking at a couple on the right, I listened to them. Some South Indian Language which I couldn't understand. Then the group of friends on left. Some laugh, light talk. Then the sweet delivery person on right front distant counter shouting to someone far, about some order. The person ordering food behind me, and the cashier replying. People at distance. Traffic at even distant road.
All the sounds got sorted out! IT was suddenly SILENT inside! :)

I noticed that there is a soundscape around me ... Just like when one sees one sight object on the right, one is not seeing that on left, sounds don't overlap, you follow them one by one.

Unfortunately, ears don't have earlids like eyelids, to close them at will. So we can't shut the sounds falling on the ears. And since we don't want to listen them, it becomes a noise. Now there can be a noisy sound, but not a noisy picture. This is where sight and listening differs.

movie like

I was watching "Marley and Me" and noticed how nicely crafted the dialogs were. Why do movies and plays have a nice, audible dialogs where as in daily life its plain conversation!?
Pondering more I think its because:
They don't just blabber, they talk particular things
Lots of expressions
Accents

And of course, in a movie a lot of editing is done! if you see 24 hours of a celeb on camera for 24 hours, then even if it is directed and all, you would get bored! the duration of film is much shorter than the duration in which it happens/ is imagined to happen!
also, so much closeup zoom in and zoom out of camera, all sorts of crazy angles, lights and what not!
lil diff in reel life and real life!..

Some people have it though, even in real life, they smile, talk expressively, dress well and smart and i like such people. i like them!
With sadhana seva satsang, life is like a bond 007 life, only, here we win hearts of people!

I liked the gentle lighting lamps in movie rock on, instead of full flood of light that a tube light gives, in normal homes. Then I noticed, that its actually quite an inadequate lighting, if the tube light is not put up! lots of things not similar in real life than in reel one!

Madness or Brilliance

I just love this scene from Pirates of Carribean part 1:- the curse of black pearl. Jack and Will need a ship to get back Will's proposed gf, who has been kidnapped. Now of course, they will take one of the ships that are already floating around, in a pirate's way!To avoid being sighted by the soldiers, Jack and Will get down under a boat that is lying upside down on the seashore. Soon the boat enters the water, and they start walking with its cover, AT THE BOTTOM of the sea!! They do so till they reach the Big Ship that they want to "borrow withouth permission!"
Will:- This is either madness or sheer Brilliance
Captain Sparrow:- Its strange how often these two traits coincide!! :)
~~~~~~~~~
Reminds me of the "tunnel" that we had in the Maharashtra Mandal Swimming Pool in Pune. They had made a cavity where 5 people could easily breath in, with water till their chest. I never went there, but my brother did. So its like you jump in a well, go through the tunnel, and reach that cavity and stay there for some time! Quite an adventure. Of course, they used to take safety precautions for all.
Most difficult thing to hide...
You can easily hide the thoughts. Feelings are not so easy to hide, looking at someone, you can see what he/she is feeling.
More subtler we go, its more difficult to hide!
Love is most difficult thing to hide...
Yet, it is also most difficult thing to expres..!
There were days when movie songs would portray the dignity in love. There was some depth in the expression. When will the days come back
where we can have meaningful lyrics, written from heart, not intellect, and such devout singing that simply conveys the feeling, the longing?
since the days when the media has become so handy and easy, probably the producers have lost the depth of conveying it can give, so the production is so shallow.
movies abound!
Singh is Kinng
I enjoyeed this one not only because Akshay kumar is cool and natural and the Katrina sizzles, but because there was a group of friends in the audi who were dancing on the tunes of "Singh is King, Singh is King, Singh is King"!!! There was this one guy in them who would whistle, clap, make action and on the dance got up and started dancing! After all the King ness is all about style! I too joined in and sported in clapping and singing and whistling...! It was fun. After all a movie should be an experience, not just watching... Their official website is nice!
Rock on!!
I went to this movie after reading Bhawana's review. The "Magik" of this classy movie still persists... Saw it twice. We went in a big group with lots of YES!+ Junta who were having a lot of fun, waving and singing along the rock... like a real rock show! Ohh how I wish to grow hair long enough!
The scenes are classy and touching.. well chosen backdrops, music that speaks the emotion... I love that song
So sweet of her to say that may our talks get dissolved in the melodies!
I like the spirit of their coming back... KD keeps all happy, and finally Aditya let's go of the past... The disparities come to an end and its truly remarkable how grace moves their lives!
Prachi Desai plays a very sweet, soft, emotional and dignified role as Sakshi.
Kudos to the whole team who made it!
Mamma Mia
I loved the music and particularly the song "slipping through my fingers..." so nice expressions through music. Bau has written a nice review on this movie. I kept humming mixed up lyrics from the movie for hours later! The music and lyrics in the movie just intermixes with the prose and flows through the simple actions! lovely!
"...,"
"...," this is the title of the Kannada movie in which His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar is taking part in!! Its a silent movie except for one dialogue by Sri Sri!! I am all curious to watch it... The actors are not allowed any lip movement too, only some sign language and face expressions! wuhu, how would it be! Check out news on this in article one and two. The director has set up a competition to decipher the title, and they have approached Guinness book for a record too!
Looks like, after lot of useless blabbering in most of the films and even in life, which anyways don't make much sense, this is an interesting initiative to convey what is beyond the words! :)
I love the Art of Living Foundation's Advanced course, in which we maintain some silence. And at the end of it, I don't even wish to talk! I feel how nice it would be if there was no words at all in all over the world!
hmmm. sometimes few words are necessary to bring out that silence.
Hats off to you Guruji, you have touched to all realms of expression!
Mummy 3
Saw Mummy :- The tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
A huge army buried underground looks for awakening. The emperor who has mastered control over the five elements is looking for immortality. A lot of hidden secrets behind the Great wall of China!
Will our archaeologist friends discover them and fight with the army general to keep the menace under control!?
The film made me curious to see previous films in the Mummy trilogy.
The music and rising skeletons also reminded me of my most favorite movie:- the Pirates of the Caribbean! :)
I liked the scenes in icy mountains.... And yes, there are snow-men-lions! :)
I saw a lot of similarity with Indiana Jones...
I like these movies because they are like reality shows of treasure hunts... excellent trailer on the official website.
What is interesting is, much of the background of the movie, the burried statues of the king is actually true! Read the wiki entry on it.
In both the history of mankind, and inside the planet earth, there lie so many things hidden!
Kung Fu Panda!
It was fun watching Kung Fu Panda yesterday!
Superb Animation and fast actions, and what's more, since its all animated, there are tricks not doable in a real life! Great sound effects. Animation industry is coming so close to real experience.
The director has managed to portrait the human emotions very well in the animation.
Like the Senior Master says, "You need to believe that which you wish to happen." Its interesting to see that when what I need to achieve is aligned with what I need to do, What I wish can become reality!
You can see a trailor here:
Welcome to Awesomeness!
~~~
By the way, I think I enjoyed the movie because I could relate a lot to Poh, the Panda:
He cant see his legs because of his tummy, I cant see it too.
He lives in his dream world, I live in my dream world too.
He can do anything for food, I can do anything for food too.
He doesnt like exercises, I don't like exercises too!

Whether you know... or don’t know!

This article is merely an obvious restatement of the fact that “Jane tu …” simply rocks!

Its such a good make... got me back to my college days… A cool group of boys and girls who share the days of college, which pass by so fast, that one doesn’t know how it passed. When Aditi asks Jai‘s mother,"How did so many days pass!?", she says, ‘on phone, beta!’

A fantastic way of telling a story inside a story is so nice… the girl listening the story exemplifies the audience, that is you.

I wasn’t understanding what I liked about the hero, and as Mahesh pointed out, its simply that he doesn’t do any heroism! He is simply there, playing his character naturally.

I would love to make such kind of a movie!

In fact more of such movies are needed, where I can feel it’s just me there, not some director moving the characters fancied by some whimsical script writer!

And there is so much talent available in all youth in India. It needs to be rightly portrayed.

Lightness to live life, fragrance of love, emotional depth and bellyful laughter make “Jane Tu” a fantastic watch! Especially at PVR Forum on weekdays 10 am!

Favourites!

Pal Pal Pal Pal har Pal, Kaise katega har pal, har pal !?

An intense longing for the beloved expressed in a playful manner! She is so beautiful and He is so dedicated!

Piya Bole, Piya Bole, Kya ye bole, Janu na...

Lovely! Flowing lyrics and sweet melodious music.

Maine Socha Na Tha

An unbelievable phenomenon on this planet... His Holiness Sri Sri Ravishankar.
So fortunate I am to have met him.

Tu Bin Bataye

Leap of faith in the unknown, with a torch of love in one's hand...

Chronicles of Narnia :- The Prince Capsian

I saw this nice movie today:- Chronicles of Narnia :- The Prince Capsian...

What would the world be like, if the animals started talking English, and trees started walking... Welcome to the world of Narnia... Beautiful jungles, lovely clean river water.

Narnians include horsemen too... creatures with human chest and head and horse's body and four legs. Human Narnians are short and proud of the woods. They love the nature and are in harmony with it...

Alas... some other human creatures find all this absurd, and are on way to cause total extinction of Narnians... Will they succeed..!? How will the prince Caspian save Narnians. How will the Elder(by hundreds of years, yet of same age in their Native as the Prince Caspian) Kings and Queens return to Narnia and help the Prince... Worth a watch, espacially in PVR Cinema.... :)
